Sushi Series

Spring 2021 Materials: Polymer clay, liquid polymer clay, chalk pastel

The Spring of 2021 was spent reinventing the game of clay caning a bit to make the most hyper realistic sushi possible. Traditional canes allow the artist to make one large design and roll it down to slice in smaller pieces. This worked great for many of the sushi styles, but new methods such as pre-baking the veggie cane for crisp uncombined cuts had to be created. Semi-translucent rice and roe were created using translucent FIMO. This series contained magnets, earrings of various styles, phone grips, and pins.
